Senator Abubakar Kyari, the Deputy National Chairman (North) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has assumed the role of acting National Chairman for the party.
Festus Fuanter, Deputy National Secretary, has assumed office as the acting National Secretary.
This follows the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu as national chairman of the party.
In the midst of tight security measures, Kyari on Monday convened a meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) at the party's national secretariat in Abuja.
Accompanying Kyari were prominent party members, including Emma Enukwu, the Deputy National Chairman (South); Salihu Lukman, the National Vice Chairman (North-West); Salihu Mustapha, the National Vice Chairman (North-East); Muazu Bawa, the National Vice Chairman (North Central); Issacs Kekemeke, the National Vice Chairman (South-West); Ejoroma Arodiogu, the National Vice Chairman (South-East); and Barr.
