Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has slashed the costs of transportation of all state-owned transport systems by 50 per cent.
The move is part of efforts to cushion the effects of the petrol subsidy removal on Lagosians.
At a press briefing on Monday at the Lagos House, Ikeja, the governor stressed that the government will continue working towards rolling out several palliatives to help cushion the hardship brought by the removal of subsidy.
The governor noted that the 50 percent government transportation cost cut will take effect from Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
In addition, he revealed that the informal transportation sector has also put in place modalities to slash their charges by 25 per cent.
