Honeyland Schools Triumph in Season 9 "I Beg to Differ" Debate

Honeyland Schools won first place in the Season 9 I Beg to Differ Debate Tournament, narrowly edging out Straitgate High School in a closely contested final.

Heritage Group of Schools finished third, securing its spot on the podium

Honeyland Schools narrowly secured first place by just 1.5 points on the motion, “Capitalism Is the Best System for National Development,” setting Straitgate High School in second place.

Heritage Group of Schools came out third in a fierce battle with Great Solid Rock College, winning by unanimous decision on the motion, “Police Brutality in Nigeria Is Primarily a Result of Systemic Failure, Not Individual Misconduct.”

   

The winner, Honeyland Schools, took home a grand cash prize of 5 million naira and phones for each of the contestants. 

Straitgate High School received 3 million naira and Bluetooth speakers for each debater, while Heritage Group of Schools earned 2 million naira and headphones.

All three schools have qualified for the National Tournament of Champions scheduled for August 2026.
