
The Nigeria Police Force has arrested four kidnappers in separate operations in two states.
In Delta State, the force arrested a suspected kidnapping gang leader identified as Abubakar Usman (AKA Shehu) in a sting operation on 10 April.
The suspect confessed to multiple crimes including the abduction of a medical doctor at Issele-uku, the killing of a man and the kidnapping of his wife and daughter at Ogwashi-Uku, and also the snatching and murder of another woman at Ibusa.
He led the police to his gang’s hideout in a forest along the Asaba/Agbor expressway, where the operatives engaged in a gun duel with the kidnappers, successfully killing four and recovering three AK-47 rifles and 90 rounds of live ammunition.
In Kano State, police arrested three kidnapping suspects aged 22 to 40, on 10 April.
Further investigation led to the recovery of 15 locally fabricated revolver rifles, 102 live cartridges, and six expended cartridges from the suspects identified as Abdul Sadiq, Ahmad Muazu, and Aliyu Sharif.
