The Nigerian Army says troops of Operation Hadarin Daji have rescued 24 kidnapped victims and killed four bandits in a firefight in Zamfara State.
Army Spokesperson, Brig. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, in a statement over the weekend, said the feat was achieved by troops of 223 Battalion, operating under Sector 1 of a Joint Task Force.
He said they engaged the bandits in a firefight in the early hours of July 7 at Kabugu Lamba in Maru Local Government Area.
The rescued persons comprised nine adult females, 14 males, and a child.
