The British High Commission to Nigeria has announced a temporary suspension of business operations during the England and Nigeria football match at the FIFA Women’s World Cup on Monday.

All the staff members of the Commission will, in addition, gather for an important meeting at half-time, aimed at promoting peace and harmony among colleagues.

The High Commissioner to Nigeria, Richard Montgomery, tweeted that would be regardless of the match's outcome.

This gesture highlights the High Commission's commitment to fostering strong relationships among its team members.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons are hoping to get its first win in the knockout stage of the Women’s World Cup as they play against England.

The Europeans finished top of Group D with three wins from three matches while Nigeria came in second place in Group B following two draws and an incredible win against hosts, Australia.

Whoever emerges victorious from the match will go on to face the winner of the Colombia-Jamaica game on Saturday, 12 August 2023.
