Congratulatory messages are pouring in for the athlete, Tobi Amusan who set a world record in the 100 meters hurdles at the 2022 World Athletics Championship in Oregon, the US.

Anambra State former governor and the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi tweeted that the tears of the athlete showed that Nigerians need leaders to match the talents of her youth.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar said he was proud of Amusan’s feat.
He also tweeted that he plans to refocus investment in sports and the creative sector if he’s elected as Nigeria’s president in 2023.
