World Record: Buhari and Presidential Candidates Congratulate Tobi Amusan

Congratulatory messages are pouring in for the athlete, Tobi Amusan who set a world record in the 100 meters hurdles at the 2022 World Athletics Championship in Oregon, the US.

President Muhammadu tweeted his congratulations Monday morning, joining millions of Nigerians to celebrate the country’s first world champion.

Anambra State former governor and the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi tweeted that the tears of the athlete showed that Nigerians need leaders to match the talents of her youth.

The presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu also congratulated the athlete via his Twitter handle.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar said he was proud of Amusan’s feat.

He also tweeted that he plans to refocus investment in sports and the creative sector if he’s elected as Nigeria’s president in 2023.
