Nigeria's commercial and entertainment capital, Lagos, ranks 171 out of 172 cities on the list of the world's most liveable cities in the latest Global Liveability Index.

The ranking indicates that Lagos is the second most unliveable city in the world and the worst in Africa.

The Deputy Editor at Stears Business, Adesola Afolabi explained to Sandra Ezekwesili that capital expenditure must be increased to improve Lagos' liveability.

Afolabi stated that the state does not spend as much as it ought to on capital expenditure and also does not spend on what it ought to.

She added that accountability and determination to make things work will send a positive signal to foreign investors looking to invest in the state.
