Ten-man Liverpool came from behind to defeat Newcastle 2-1 in Sunday’s biggest Premier League fixture.
The Reds went a goal down in the 25th minute after a lapse in concentration from Trent Alexander-Arnold saw Anthony Gordon go through on goal. The youngster finished expertly to hand the Geordies the lead.
Things went from bad to worse for Liverpool some minutes later as Captain Virgil Van Dijk was sent off for a last-man tackle on Alexander Isak.
Liverpool managed to withstand Newcastle's pressure and got an equaliser in the 81st minute with Substitute Darwin Nunez capitalising on an error from the Liverpool defence.
With the game heading for a draw, Nunez popped up with the winner in the 94th minute,a well-placed strike beyond Nick Pope.
