The Senator representing Anambra South, Ifeanyi Ubah, has left the Young Progressives Party (YPP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The President of the Senate, Godswil Akpabio, announced Ubah’s membership of the ruling party on the floor during Thursday's plenary.
Senator Ubah, according to the Senate President, cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for leaving the YPP.
Addressing newsmen shortly after plenary, Senator Ubah explained that his decision was in the interest of his constituents.
He was elected under the Young Progressive Party (YPP) in 2019 and re-elected in 2023.
