Chelsea have let go of their manager, Mauricio Pochettino, who led them to sixth place in the 2023/24 EPL season.

The London club released a statement Tuesday evening thanking the 52-year-old Argentine for his time.

On behalf of everyone at Chelsea, we would like to express our gratitude to Mauricio for his service this season,” wrote sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley.

He will be welcome back to Stamford Bridge any time and we wish him all the very best in his future coaching career.

Pochettino joined The Blues in July 2023 on a two-year contract with an option to extend for another year.

He had a rocky start at Stamford Bridge, losing four of his first 10 games in charge while drawing three.

The Blues gelled towards the end of the season, with seven wins, two draws, and one loss in their final 10 matches with Pochettino in charge.

In his farewell message, the manager thanked Chelsea “for the opportunity to be part of this football club's history.

The Club is now well positioned to keep moving forward in the Premier League and Europe in the years to come,” he added.

Chelsea are believed to be considering several candidates to fill Pochettino’s place.
