The Nigerian military says it is yet to receive any order for military action against the coup plotters in Niger Republic.
The military spokesperson, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau stated this on Thursday while reacting to an online report that Nigeria was assembling forces for military action in the neighboring country.
Gen. Gusau explained that military intervention would only be considered after every other option to return the government of President Mohamed Bazoum to power fails.
He pointed out that Nigeria’s Armed Forces cannot proceed on any operation in any ECOWAS member state without a mandate from the bloc’s heads of state and government.
