The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has launched a manhunt after severe rainfall damaged the perimeter wall of the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Ilesa, Osun State.

The breach occurred around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, allowing seven inmates to escape.

This prompted the Controller General of Corrections, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, to order an immediate investigation into the escape.

The NCoS says it is working with other security agencies and community leaders to recapture the escapees.

It wants the public to assist by providing any information that could lead to their capture.

Tips can be reported to the nearest security agency or via the NCoS Response Desk at 07087086005, 09060004598, or 08075050006.
