The National Economic Council (NEC) will meet in Abuja today under the chairmanship of Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The 36 state governors and other political appointees will attend the meeting.
At its last meeting in August, the NEC validated the measures adopted by the federal government to ease the challenges associated with fuel subsidy removal.
They include the release of trucks of rice to each state and the release of N5 billion for the procurement of grains and fertilizer.
The N5 billion was to be given as a grant on a ratio of 52:48 to state and local governments.
The NEC advises the president on Nigeria's economic affairs.
