News broke Monday evening that a coalition of Northern groups purchased the Nomination and Expression of Interest forms for former President Goodluck Jonathan to run for president under the All Progressive Congress (APC).
President Jonathan’s media adviser, Ikechukwu Eze reacted to this by saying the former president considers the action ‘’an insult’’.
He released a statement noting that Dr. Jonathan was unaware of the purchase of the forms and did not authorise it.
And just like his media adviser, Dr. Jonathan’s one-time aide, Reno Omokri tweeted that his former principal had nothing to do with the ‘’reported’’ purchase of the forms.
Former President Jonathan has nothing to do with the reported purchase of some forms. He has an official spokesman and his own staff. He is a man of honour and will not do anything surreptitiously. The media and the public should be guided. #TableShaker pic.twitter.com/PPNwWuVu7c

First of all, to whet your appetite, let me say that under the rain and under the sun, I will follow Jonathan. Secondly secondly, I can’t ever be one with APC. Thirdly, nobody can shave HE @GEJonathan’s head in his absence. Read between the lines. More to come! #TableShaker

I could have denied this hours ago, but I deliberately deleted in order to watch his enemies and mine dance deliriously at the thought that they’d demystified @GEJonathan. There is no Nigerian alive that has the national and international credibility that HE GEJ has#TableShaker

On the other hand, journalist, David Hundeyin is of the opinion that the former president doesn’t have any unfinished business in the presidency.
Please maintain your position as a statesman. Don't come back into the mosh pit. There is nothing there for you. You have no unfinished business.

You did what history required of you (mostly), and you left when the ovation was loudest. Leave it like that.
Abeg.
He noted that Dr. Jonathan conceded defeat without getting people killed and urged him not to ‘’stain that legacy.’’
I say this as someone who respects Goodluck Jonathan deeply as a human being and as a leader. He is still the only HOS in Nigeria's history to cede power democratically to an opposition candidate, and he did so without getting people killed.

He shouldn't stain that legacy.
