Popular musician Aituaje Iruobe, well known as Waje, is adamant the current state of the nation will lead to a renewed effort from the populace to alternate/effect the future of the country starting in 2023.

The "Only You" singer gave this assertion while in conversation with Mary-Ann Duke Okon and Stretch on Whaats Up Lagos.

For the Akure-born artiste, frustrations have equaled reality.

"I think we have gotten to a point of frustration that we're living in the reality of it," she explained.

"Initially, it was the poor that felt the pinch, and the middle and upper class felt the need to speak up for the poor.

"Now it is hitting everyone; if not in the area of increase in food prices, it is education with the strike, diesel and fuel prices, and even bad roads.

"These are real things happening to people." summated the 2014 World Music Awards Nominee (World Best Female Entertainer).

While accepting that the call for change could get "drowned in all of the noise" by dint of antecedent, she reiterated why the fear of the unknown in the future is a thought that cannot be entertained.

"Tell me why you won't wake up and do the needful if it is now coming to your doorstep?

"At some point, you are the person that the poor will be able to reach." she warned.
