2021 U.S. Open champion, Emma Raducanu has officially cut ties with her coach of five months, Torben Beltz as she prepares for the Madrid Open this week.
The 19-year old Grand Slam champion says she made the decision because she needs to go a different direction in training for her development.
Raducanu has worked with Beltz since November 2021 after she parted ways with Andrew Richardson.
Before Raducanu, Beltz had worked with former world number one, Angelique Kerber when she won both the Australian Open and U.S.
Open titles in 2016.
"I want to thank Torben for his professionalism and dedication over last half a year," Raducanu said.
"He has a huge heart and I have enjoyed our strong chemistry during the time together.
"I feel the best direction for my development is to transition to a new training model 7:51 with the LTA supporting in the
interim."
With the Madrid Open getting underway from 28 April, Raducanu will once again be on the look to appoint her fourth coach in the coming weeks.
