The Delta State Police Command says it has arrested eleven additional suspects over the disturbing incidents in Oramudu Quarters, Ozoro.
Police say the arrests followed directives from Commissioner of Police Aina Adesola, with the CP Special Assignment Team carrying out detailed investigations using video evidence and intelligence.
Authorities say those arrested include Samson Atukpodo, Steven Ovie, Ugbevo Samson, Afoke Akporobaro, Evidence Oguname, and six others.
Preliminary findings indicate the acts were carried out by criminal elements who exploited the situation and do not reflect any legitimate cultural practice.
The police say efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend all those involved, while urging victims and witnesses to come forward with useful information, assuring them of confidentiality.
