“I expect them to be man enough and stop acting like cowards and cross to the other side.”
The federal lawmaker representing Ideato Federal Constituency of Imo State under the Peoples Democratic Party, Ikenga Ugochinyere, has challenged individuals fuelling internal party divisions within the PDP to stop being “cowards”.
He challenged them in an interview on Nigeria Info's Hard Facts, where he urged these individuals to openly defect and switch allegiances if they no longer believe in the PDP's potential.
Ugochinyere also accused the PDP acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, of incompetence, lack of leadership, and allowing the PDP to lose its identity:
“Nobody even knows our own National Chairman. That goes a long way to show you that the man is existing in name, not in action.”
The lawmaker further alleged that the acting National Chairman favours members with ties to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), citing instances where he allegedly included the names of APC members as PDP Caretaker Committee members in Rivers State.
