A federal high court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Department of State Services (DSS) to grant Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), access to doctors of his choice.
The judgement, delivered by Justice Binta Nyako, also mandates the secret police to monitor, record, and seal all medical sessions attended by the IPOB leader, citing security reasons.
Furthermore, the court dismissed the DSS's preliminary objections against the application, emphasizing that Kanu, even in detention, has the right to receive essential medical services.
