The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring steady and uninterrupted supply of petrol and diesel across Nigeria, boasting a production capacity that exceeds the nation’s daily consumption.

Dangote Industries Limited's Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, said the refinery currently produces over 45 million litres of petrol and 25 million litres of diesel daily, underscoring the company’s role in stabilising the domestic energy market.

“Our refinery is currently loading over 45 million litres of PMS and 25 million litres of diesel daily, which exceeds Nigeria’s demand,” Chiejina said.

“We are working collaboratively with regulatory agencies and distribution partners to guarantee efficient nationwide delivery. Dangote remains steadfast in its commitment to meeting the energy needs of Nigerians.”

He explained that the refinery’s robust output not only guarantees local supply but also strengthens energy security and reduces Nigeria’s dependence on fuel imports.

Aliko Dangote, the President of Dangote Industries Limited, assured Nigerians that petrol prices would remain stable during the upcoming festive season, despite global price fluctuations.

“I want to assure Nigerians that the Dangote Refinery is fully committed to maintaining an uninterrupted supply of petrol throughout the festive period,” Dangote said.

“Nigerians can look forward to a Christmas and New Year free of fuel anxiety.”

Since commencing petrol production in September 2024, the refinery has played a key role in stabilising fuel prices and eliminating the recurring fuel scarcity that often characterised festive periods.

According to market data, the average price of petrol dropped from ₦1,030 per litre in September 2024 to ₦841–₦851 per litre by September 2025, following the introduction of the Dangote Direct Delivery Scheme

Similarly, the average price of diesel fell from ₦1,400–₦1,700 per litre in 2024 to about ₦1,020 per litre in by late 2025.
