The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced plans to absorb over ₦1.07 trillion annually in logistics costs as part of its fuel distribution.
On 15 June, the refinery disclosed it will start distributing fuels directly to marketers across Nigeria, potentially reducing pump prices and easing inflationary pressures.
Set to commence on 15 August, the refinery will deploy over ₦720 billion in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks, eliminating the transportation costs for fuel marketers and large-scale consumers.
This development promises to save Nigerians more than ₦1.7 trillion annually in transportation-related expenses.
The refinery's output will meet Nigeria's daily fuel consumption needs, including 65 million liters of refined petroleum products like petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel.
This strategy is expected to significantly benefit over 42 million Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by lowering energy costs and enhancing profitability.
