The Lagos State Government has advised riders of commercial motorcycles (okada) affected by its ban to stop complaining and "go learn a trade."
There have been varying reactions to the government's decision to extend the partial ban on okada in Lagos State to four additional Local Government Areas.
Several okada riders say the ban will force them out of business.
In response, the Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotosho, said there are other opportunities in Lagos including those that residents can find at 19 vocational centres.
Speaking on The Newsroom, he added that the government doesn't leave learners to fend for themselves after learning a skill, as they're provided with resources to start a business.
Mr. Omotosho therefore urged riders affected by the ban to take up the opportunities offered by the government.
