The Federal Road Safety Corps Commander in Rivers State, Salisu Galadunci, has revealed that road crashes in the state have reduced.
Galadunci, during a conversation on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire, told Ifiemi Andrew that the state is among three states with the lowest record of road traffic crashes. He however mentioned Elele, Ahoada, Mbiama, and Eleme, as flashpoints where road crashes are still frequent.
The FRSC boss noted that the corps currently faces a challenge with the number of broken-down vehicles on the roads.
When asked what the agency is doing to get rid of rickety vehicles on the roads, Galadunci said there is an ongoing operation that ensures rickety vehicles are impounded, but the agency cannot continue to detain vehicles and turn its office to a mechanic village after the owners have paid a fine.
