A Niger Delta Chieftain, Chief Anabs Sara-Igbe, has expressed fears that the pipeline surveillance contract given to the former leader of the defunct Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, Government Ekpemupolo also known as ‘Tompolo’, might “escalate the crisis in the Niger Delta”.
Chief Sara-Igbe suggested on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire with Ifiemi Andrew, that there should be a summit or dialogue in the Niger Delta for stakeholders to key into the process.
He says the pipeline the contract covers cuts across the Niger Delta and not just Delta State where ‘Tompolo’ comes from and may make other stakeholders from other states in the region agitated.
