President of the Ogoni Youth Federation, Legborsi Yamaabana says there would be no need for a protest on the Ogoni axis of the East-West Road.
“The protest has been called off, not suspended”, he stressed on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire.
This comes after the Federal Executive Council, FEC presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo approved an increase in the allocation for the reconstruction of the East-West Road from an initial N246 billion to N506 billion naira.
The deplorable state of the East-West Road has been a major concern for both indigenes and road users plying the route.
Legborsi assured that the reconstruction work will be done.
