The Falconets which made Nigerians proud in the group stage of the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup 2022 lost to the Netherlands in the knockout stage.

Mixed martial artist, Kamaru Usman lost his UFC welterweight title to Leon Edwards, and Nigerian-born British boxer, Anthony Joshua was defeated by Oleksandr Usyk in their unified WBO, WBA , and IBF titles bout .
